Working in partnership with other organisations who seek the common good for New Lubbesthorpe is an integral part to who we are.
The Drummond Estate
New Lubbesthorpe is the initiative of the Drummond Estate and particularly Fred Drummond. Plans were first made in 2008 to provide a major new community providing much-needed new homes, jobs, facilities and services, in a way that conserves the qualities of the local area and the features of the site – its established landscape of trees and woods, its brooks, its archaeology, its history and its ecology.
We are pleased to work with the Drummond Estate to bring this initiative to fruition.
Churches Together in Leicestershire
Being the instigators and financiers of the original Community Work in New Lubbesthorpe, Churches Together remain in association with Lubbesthorpe Alive CIC to support in the development of this not-for-profit social enterprise.
Blaby District Council
Churches Together first began a partnership with Blaby District Council in 2014, when New Lubbesthorpe was still at planning stage. Knowing that new housing estates can often be soulless, Churches Together and Blaby District Council wanted to help build a community of connected people, not just houses and buildings. This partnership, together with The Drummond Estate, meant a joined-up approach to planning and creating this community took place. This key three-way partnership has continued to flourish to this day and the result is an award winning, community focused new housing development that has a vibrant and healthy community at the centre. Blaby District Council are so committed to this development that they also provided extra resource with the introduction of a Community Development Worker to strengthen the offer.
