COVID-19 response

Supporting our Community

When the coronavirus began to take hold in the UK, residents contacted us to ask if they could help those who might need a helping hand during the lockdown. We were happy to bring people together to do this, and worked with Lubbesthorpe Parish Council and the Blaby District Council to make this happen.

Our approach as a grassroots organisation, who understand and know our community well, meant that volunteers were quickly galvanised. We let our whole community know we could help out with shopping, collection of medication and even a friendly phonecall.

We had more than enough volunteers which went to show the great community spirit that exists within our community.

As the pandemic effects slow here we know that help may be needed in the future if we see local spikes and as our community grows. We are currently looking at how the goodwill shown by volunteers through the pandemic can continue to help those who need a helping hand in our Community.
