Volunteer Director Vacancy

We have a vacancy for a resident of Lubbesthorpe to join our not-for-profit community development organisation, Lubbesthorpe Alive CIC, as a Volunteer Board Member. This role offers a great chance to contribute to your local community while enhancing your own skills and experience. With roots going back 7 years, Lubbesthorpe Alive has evolved with the growth of Lubbesthorpe village.

 We’re expanding our activites and are therefore after someone who can help us keep up with that growth.  Whether you’re starting your career, in between jobs, pursuing continuous professional development or enjoying retirement, volunteering with Lubbesthorpe Alive offers an excellent opportunity to improve your skills.   Engaging in various projects and initiatives will not only broaden your skill set but also provide a unique and enriching experience. 

What does the role involve ?

The main objectives of the role includes working with the Treasurer to oversee financial matters, ensuring the organisation stays true to our core outcomes and contributing to its growth. 

Responsibilities include attending monthly directors meetings, long-term financial planning, ensuring legal compliance, and occasional attendance at community events. You can expect to give around 8 - 10 hours of your time every month to fulfill the role. Preferred skills and experiences include experience as a Charity Trustee, CIC Director, or small business owner. 

You will need to understand the value of community work, have strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within Lubbesthorpe Alive and our partners. Orientation and training will be provided by the Pioneer Community Worker and Treasurer.
